Welcome to the first Virgin London Marathon newsletter – we hope you like the new look. Virgin are honoured to be sponsoring the race and to mark the change over we’ve also launched the brand new Virgin London Marathon website.
But first of all, we’d like to say a huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the London Marathon at the weekend. We’re sure you’ll agree the pain and hard work was worthwhile - hopefully you’ll consider doing it all over again in 2010!

| Want to run in 2010? |
If you’d like to run in 2010, the online ballot is open now.
Because there are always more entrants for the London Marathon than places available, we use a ballot system for UK runners so everyone has an equal chance of securing a place. But you’ll have to hurry. The demand this year has been unprecedented. We have received 70,000 ballot entries so far and there are only 120,000 available, so if you have not entered already you will need to act quickly.
